Cyberjaya Salesforce Developer User Group (DUG) and Women-in-Tech User Group (WIT) Trailblazer Communities – Meetup & Hackathon

Sep 28th dawned with a lot of enthusiasm from our local Salesforce community in Cyberjaya and suburbs as we hosted our second Salesforce DUG meetup at MAGIC, Cyberjaya. The event also marked the launch of our Women-in-Tech (WIT) Salesforce user group – which focuses on bringing up Salesforce talents among the women community. The morning sessions focused on interesting discussions on Lightning Web Components by Shivam Singh (Dell) and Abhinav Saxena (UST Global) representing the DUG group, followed by Salesforce Platform Cache presented by Cyberjaya WIT leads Poojitha Addanki (UST Global) and Subhasini Bhosal (UST Global). As always, participants look forward to some fun and games as part of the Salesforce Kahoot Quiz and they had a chance to walk away with some great prizes sponsored by UST Global.

The highlight of the event was the Hackathon in the afternoon session – with 9 teams clashing for the top spot. Teams were given a business scenario to design and build in Salesforce within 3 hours followed by a 10 min presentation by each team to the judges.

It was a close competition between all the teams with the following teams claiming the top 3 spots:

Winners: Tech Diablos – Himanshu Kaushik, Hemant Thakkar, Akshita Sharma (3 from UST Global), Raveena Bhagat (Dell),

Runners Up: Pemikir Cepat – Harshit Shah, Sachin Sabu, Sunil Haridas, Vismy P Soman (all from UST Global)

3rd Place: Just Another Team – Elton Pereira, Rajiv Ranjan, Akash Emmadishetty, Vignesh Sriraman (all from UST Global)

The top 3 winners were awarded prizes sponsored by Salesforce with consolation prizes as well for all the rest of the hackathon participants. We even held a twitter competition with awards for most likes and retweets – Shivam Singh and Abdur Mohammad claimed the salesforce swags for these.

Special mention to all the volunteers who helped plan and pull off the event successfully – Shibu Abraham & Anuj Shah (DUG Group Leaders), Sonali Rathore, Shrishti Mishra & Urvish Brahmbhatt (Program team), Manikandan Raju & Sri Harsha Chadalavada (F&B), Banu Thohida (Registration), Shivam Singh, Abhinav Saxena & Pei Lai (Hackathon Judges). The Salesforce Trailblazer community aims at providing a platform for bringing Salesforce professionals in the local community together to learn and share from their experiences – and to help expand their professional networks. The event had representation from some of the top companies in Malaysia such as Dell, Roche, Cochlear and Deloitte. Everyone had a fun time not to mention a chance to learn something new from the sessions and the hackathon – and are looking forward to the next meetup later this year.
